About The Position

This position ensures that materials and in process product is transferred from the shuttle to the appropriate interim storage location or packaging line. The role involves inspecting materials for deficiencies, unloading and weighing product, organizing product by cut size, species, and lot number for First In/First Out inventory management, scanning product in and out of assigned lines, and returning unused product. The position also requires monitoring the WIP room for cleanliness and organization, loading trailers with clean materials, and cleaning the department as needed. Additionally, the role may involve transferring product from combos to barrels, dumping product into hoppers at packaging lines, and supplying raw materials like film and labels to the packaging line. Completing daily production paperwork and ensuring a safe and quality food product are also key aspects of this role. The employee must report any food safety issues to their supervisor or the quality assurance department and comply with safety regulations.

Requirements

Education generally equivalent to a High School Diploma.
A basic understanding of GMP's, HACCP and SQF guidelines.
Mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiple and divide.
Good oral and written communication skills in order to interact with and provide work direction to employees.
Ability to use industrial equipment as needed.
Must be trained as an Authorized employee under LOTO.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, and taste or smell.
Frequently lift and/or move more than 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Inspects materials/ product identification for obvious deficiencies when unloading WIP to cooler.
Unloads and weighs each combos, racks and barrels into WIP.
Organizes product by cut size, species and lot # to ensure First In/ First Out with inventory.
Scans product out to and back from assigned lines in Packaging.
Returns combos and barrels from packaging that were not emptied back into WIP room and scanned back in.
Monitors WIP room/ area to ensure cleanliness and a high level of organization is achieved.
Loads trailer with clean combos, barrels, racks and rework.
Cleans department during Break, Lunch, and when needed, including sweeping, mopping, or assisting in Sanitation of equipment.
Keeps WIP room clean and organized.
Transfers product from Combo to Barrels using combo dumpers, dumps product into hoppers at packaging lines, as needed.
If needed, pulls other raw materials from storage areas, such as film and labels, and supplies them to the packaging line.
If needed, completes daily production paperwork according to quality requirements.
Takes responsibility of the work area to produce a safe and quality food product.
Reports all food safety related problems to your supervisor, manager, or to the quality assurance department in order to initiate immediate action.
Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work area.
