About The Position

The Winter Zone Manager is a key field leadership role responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality snow removal and de-icing services within an assigned zone. This position leads field teams, coordinates resources, communicates with customers and leadership, and ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality service throughout each winter weather event. The Winter Zone Manager serves as a primary customer contact during the winter season and plays an important role in building customer satisfaction, team collaboration, and operational success.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Valid DOT card or ability to obtain one.
  • Ability to pass a pre- employment drug test.
  • 2 seasons of commercial snow removal experience.
  • Ability to successfully use an electronic tablet and job tracking software.

Nice To Haves

  • Commercial Driver’s License.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite or similar.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee operators and crews within the assigned zone to ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and according to expectations.
  • Coordinate staffing, equipment, trucks, and other resources as weather conditions and priorities change.
  • Serve as a key field leader during snow and ice events, communicating event start and end times, adjusting resources, solving problems in real time, and providing backup coverage for branch leadership.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers during winter events.
  • Provide professional, timely communication and follow-through while addressing service needs and maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Ensure team members follow all safety procedures and that accidents, injuries, and property damage are properly documented and reported.
  • Conduct post-event site inspections and quality-control checks to ensure work meets company standards.
  • Train, mentor, and support team members while addressing performance concerns and promoting a culture of accountability, teamwork, and professionalism.
  • Demonstrate safe and proficient operation and maintenance of snow removal and de-icing equipment.
  • Work with department, branch, and maintenance leadership to ensure appropriate people, equipment, and trucks are available for assigned work.
  • Use company systems and technology to track jobs, communicate updates, document work, and maintain accurate records.
  • Complete required pre- and post-event responsibilities and meet established timelines.
  • Work closely with branch leadership, department managers, maintenance, employees, and subcontractors to resolve issues and deliver successful winter operations.
  • Participate in weekly winter operations meetings and consistently model company values, policies, and professional behavior.
