Winter Seasonal Patroller, Highway Maintenance
About The Position
Ledcor is seeking enthusiastic and team-oriented individuals for seasonal employment as Winter Seasonal Patrollers, focusing on highway maintenance in Ontario. Requirements
- Must have a minimum full G License and have a clear 3-year driver's abstract
- Must have knowledge of provincial and/or municipal highway maintenance specifications
- Have professional written and verbal communication skills
- Be approachable, ethical, and accountable
- Experienced with Microsoft office including Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word
Nice To Haves
- Preference to those who possess an AZ or DZ license
- Snow plow and loader experience is an asset
Responsibilities
- Patrol highways and report road conditions
- Monitor and record weather events and forecasts
- Recommend priority locations to address to your lead hand or shop supervisor
- Contact operators to bring on shift as required
- Operate snowplow trucks, wheel loaders, and other heavy equipment as required
- Maintain Ontario Provincial Highways year-round, including assisting with Labourer duties (pothole repair, guardrail repair, bridge and signage cleaning, hazard remediation, etc.)
- Help ensure health, safety, and environment related concerns are addressed promptly
