About The Position

Moonlight Basin is seeking a Winter Outfitter with the personality and ability to build trust with members, families, and guests in a safe and fun environment. Exceptional guest service, camp hosting, bartending, fire building, snow removal, and facility maintenance are all important parts of the Winter Outfitters team, with safety and fun within a unique outdoor experience as the ultimate goal.

Requirements

  • Adult, infant, and child CPR and First Aid required.
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and personal transportation required.
  • Willing and able to transport yourself to work in snow and ice conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Wilderness First Aid preferred.
  • Outdoor activity facilitation experience (e.g., cross-country ski instructing, fat tire biking, snowshoeing) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Meet and greet members and guests throughout the day with a professional attitude and appearance.
  • Check members in and ensure they have completed seasonal waivers for all activities and equipment rentals.
  • Check in members while greeting them, obtaining their first and last name and member number consistently for all areas.
  • Assist members and guests with directions to trails and other outdoor activities.
  • Check out and return all equipment while clearly explaining safety, proper use, pricing, and return policy.
  • Fit members and guests for hockey and ice skating, and set them up with snow tubes, cross-country skis, and fat tire bikes while explaining proper safety precautions.
  • Maintain Ulery's Lake Camp and Lake Lodge facilities, including snow removal at the yurt area, building fires, stocking the bar and hot drinks, and cleaning all facilities as necessary.
  • Provide safe, fun, and professional winter snowshoe experiences, fat tire bike rides, and cross-country skiing if qualified.
  • Assist with special events such as glow tubing and pick-up hockey games on the ice rink at Ulery's Lake Yurt.
  • Serve snacks and hot and cold beverages for members and guests and restock all items as needed.
  • Take full responsibility for the gymnasium and climbing wall facility.
  • Complete daily equipment inspections, including visually inspecting the climbing wall, auto belays, harnesses, and hardware.
  • Fit members and guests with the correct size harness and ensure it is worn properly.
  • Assist in clipping and unclipping climbers on the auto belay climbing wall and maintain safety on the ground for all ages.
  • Help maintain all spaces pertaining to Outfitters, including bathrooms, the bar top, food storage areas, and firewood areas daily, including sanitizing, cleaning, trash, and recycling.
  • Maintain a high standard of organization with all fire pit tools and snow removal tools.
  • Keep up with snow clearing throughout the day, maintaining walkways, decking, and patios, and keeping snow and ice clear of all areas including roofing, doorways, and the ice rink, using hand shovels and small gas-powered snow removal equipment.
