About The Position
The Lincoln County Highway Department is seeking a Winter Equipment Operator to help keep County roads safe. The operator performs snow and ice removal, responds to emergency calls, and carries out a variety of construction work. Hours vary, with an ideal schedule of 20–40 hours per week. Work may occur Monday through Sunday and on holidays, and the position includes being on call.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old by the date of hire.
- Have a valid CDL and a safe driving record.
- Successfully complete a criminal background check, fingerprinting, and pre-employment testing.
- Be able to perform some strenuous physical labor, occasionally lift 50 pounds, and work in varying weather conditions.
- Be able to understand and comply with verbal and written instructions and maintain a variety of records.
- Be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public.
- Be able to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working for a highway department in construction, bridge maintenance, or vehicle maintenance, or experience in a similar environment.
