About The Position

We are seeking a co-op scientist to join the Discovery Biology team at the Branford, CT site. Based on level, the student will assist experienced scientists to either learn or refine molecular biology and mammalian cell culture techniques and gain independence towards conducting experimentation in an HIV focused laboratory. The position is on site and for a period of 12 months.

Requirements

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related scientific field.
• Experience in molecular biology and mammalian cell culture.
• Must be able to work full-time (35-40 hours/week) throughout the duration of the 12-month co-op (January 2027 ~ January 2028).
• Must have an active student status and/or within 12 months post-graduation from a BS or MS degree program.
• Post-doctoral candidates are not eligible.
• Must successfully pass a drug screen and background check prior to assignment target start date.
• A passing score is required to proceed in the application process after completing the GSK Digital Assessment.

Nice To Haves

• Molecular cloning, cell culture.
• Experience with biosafety level 2 containment.
• Handling HIV and performing virus replication cell based assays are a plus.

Responsibilities
