About The Position

Stew Leonard’s is hiring a seasonal hourly Wine Merchandiser to support its wine and spirits store operations. The season runs from mid-October through the end of December, and applicants must be at least 18 years old. The role helps ensure products are properly received, shelves are stocked, displays are built, and customers can get assistance on the sales floor. The position also supports inventory, store moves, product placement, register coverage, and general store upkeep. Candidates should have an interest in wine and spirits and contribute to a welcoming, memorable shopping experience while representing the store’s S.T.E.W. values. Weekends and closing shifts are required.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Entry-level position.
Wine, Spirits, and Beer 101.
Merchandising 101.
Safe Lifting.
TiPs Certified.
Customer Service Training.
Must be available to work weekends and closing shifts.
Passion for the wine and spirits industry and genuine interest in the products sold.

Responsibilities

Stock shelves and build displays.
Safely operate equipment such as hand trucks, u-boats, conveyors, and forklifts where necessary.
Assist with inventory and store moves.
Sign off on purchase orders as deliveries arrive and verify accuracy.
Place products in the store.
Help keep the store clean.
Know the store’s exclusive and focus items.
Operate the register and cover other areas of the store as needed.
Help customers locate products and provide basic wine-pairing assistance.
Assist with other duties as assigned.
Greet customers with a friendly, positive attitude and help them feel welcome.
Collaborate with team members and offer assistance where needed.
Follow all safety procedures.
Create a memorable shopping experience and represent the store positively in interactions with customers and team members.
