About The Position

The Wine Brand Manager will own and represent assigned brand portfolios with professionalism and accountability, serving as the primary point of contact for assigned suppliers. This role involves translating supplier and company priorities into actionable brand plans, using data and insight to guide brand strategy and growth, and ensuring strong marketplace execution through collaboration and accountability. The position requires clear communication of expectations, training of sales teams, and influencing outcomes. Additionally, the role involves managing brand performance with planning discipline, including building accurate volume forecasts and monitoring inventory levels. Protecting brand standards in the marketplace, delivering clear performance insights, and executing brand presence with consistency and impact are key responsibilities. The Wine Brand Manager will also contribute positively to cross-functional success through effective partnerships and professional accountability.

Requirements

  • Possess and display CBC’s Core Values at all times: Craft It, Own It, Protect It, Celebrate It
  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent plus at least three years of similar or related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possess intermediate communication skills including the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Possess the ability to write routine reports and correspondence and to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Possess intermediate math skills including the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Possess the ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Possess high reasoning skills including the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Possess the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Possess computer skills requiring knowledge of word processing software, e-mail software, spreadsheet software, and Internet.
  • Possess valid, active ABC license.
  • Possess ability to travel up to 50% of the time, valid driver’s license, and driving record compliant with company standards.
  • Possess the ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for assigned suppliers.
  • Builds and maintains effective supplier and leadership account relationships.
  • Represents CBC in all supplier meetings.
  • Translates supplier and company priorities into actionable brand plans.
  • Uses data and insight to guide brand strategy and growth.
  • Analyzes brand performance, trends, and opportunities.
  • Identifies opportunities to expand distribution and drive incremental volume.
  • Evaluates results to inform recommendations for improved execution or strategy.
  • Balances growth objectives with operational and inventory considerations.
  • Ensures strong marketplace execution through collaboration and accountability.
  • Partners with DSMs and Sales leadership to execute monthly and annual objectives.
  • Supports ride‑alongs, crew drives, and trade audits to strengthen retail execution.
  • Provides constructive feedback to service center and sales leadership.
  • Focuses on continuous improvement in execution and visibility.
  • Clearly communicates expectations and builds field understanding.
  • Communicates supplier updates, initiatives, and program changes to internal teams.
  • Presents and trains sales teams on supplier programs and execution standards.
  • Ensures alignment across Sales, Operations, and leadership.
  • Influences outcomes through clarity, credibility, and follow‑through.
  • Manages brand performance with planning discipline.
  • Builds and maintains accurate volume forecasts.
  • Monitors inventory levels and days on hand.
  • Tracks performance versus goals and identifies risks or gaps.
  • Collaborates with internal teams to support product availability and freshness.
  • Protects brand standards in the marketplace.
  • Leads quality expectations for assigned brands.
  • Ensures adherence to freshness, rotation, and handling standards.
  • Addresses quality risks proactively with sales and operations partners.
  • Reinforces accountability for brand integrity at all levels.
  • Delivers clear, actionable performance insights.
  • Provides regular sales, inventory, and margin reporting to suppliers and leadership.
  • Tracks monthly results and performance trends.
  • Presents findings and recommendations to Sales leadership.
  • Communicates complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Executes brand presence with consistency and impact.
  • Manages POS materials and brand visibility standards.
  • Collaborates on local marketing activations and supplier events.
  • Ensures activations align with brand standards and business objectives.
  • Evaluates effectiveness and adjusts execution as needed.
  • Contributes positively to cross‑functional success.
  • Partners effectively with Purchasing, Operations, Accounting, and Sales.
  • Resolves issues related to claims, shipping, and execution.
  • Demonstrates accountability, adaptability, and professionalism.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned to support company objectives.
