About The Position

This position involves working on assignments that require considerable judgment and initiative, developing solutions to technical problems of limited scope following detailed instructions, and maintaining the smooth operation of multi-user computer systems. The role includes monitoring and managing system resources, performing systems security administration, and interacting with users to evaluate vendor products. Specific duties involve configuring and hardening NMCI assets, resolving user incidents, administering user accounts via Active Directory, managing configuration change requests, overseeing the secure hardware lifecycle of endpoint assets, assisting users with specific processes, managing IT inventory, validating application mapping, administering SharePoint repositories, monitoring contractor performance, maintaining security compliance dashboards, and auditing service line items.

Requirements

  • BS 0-2 Years or HS 6-8
  • Possess and Maintain a SECRET Clearance
  • Current Security + Certification

Responsibilities

  • Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers.
  • Monitors and manages system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency.
  • Performs systems security administration functions, including creating user profiles and accounts.
  • Sets up administrator accounts, maintains system documentation, tunes system performance, installs system-wide software, and allocates mass storage space.
  • Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
  • Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation, and provides backup recovery.
  • Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
  • May be assigned responsibility for less experienced staff.
  • Configures, deploys, and hardens NMCI assets in strict adherence to DoD cybersecurity baselines.
  • Resolves enterprise user incidents related to endpoint security, software compatibility, and network access.
  • Administers user accounts, permissions, and security settings via Active Directory, provisioning secure Universal Security Groups.
  • Processes and manages configuration change requests to ensure secure, compliant hardware transitions.
  • Oversees the secure hardware lifecycle of over 5,000 endpoint assets, tracking deployments, recoveries, and end-of-life status.
  • Assists users with Nautilus Conversion and NMCI refresh process.
  • Orders and manages local IT inventory of peripherals, replacement hardware, and software licenses.
  • Validates Seat to Application mapping using Active Directory to ensure Software Assurance and maintain a standardized software baseline.
  • Administers secure SharePoint repositories and controlled document libraries.
  • Monitors and evaluates third-party contractor performance against DoD mandated SLAs to enforce accountability and mitigate supply chain risk.
  • Maintains and updates dynamic security compliance dashboards to enable senior leadership to proactively track vulnerabilities and hardware status.
  • Audits contracted Service Line Item Numbers and network activity codes to ensure fiscal accountability and alignment with approved secure network baselines.
