About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Windows System Administrator for a new prime contract that is based out of our Maryland office. This role involves providing support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems, including managing IT system infrastructure and ensuring the integrity and performance of operating systems and network components. The position requires optimizing system operations, resource utilization, and performing capacity analysis and planning, with a strong emphasis on in-depth troubleshooting of IT systems and providing detailed feedback to management and customers.

Requirements

  • Ten (10) years’ experience as a SA on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Compliance with DoD 8570.01-M with a minimum certification of IAM Level I is required.
  • TS/SCI Poly clearance required.

Nice To Haves

  • In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, four (4) additional SA experience may be substituted for a total of fourteen (14) years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems.
  • Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.
  • Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
  • Provide Tier I (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems.
  • Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
  • Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remain involved in the resolution process.
  • Configure and manage UNIX and Windows (mostly Windows) operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintain integrity and configure network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems.
  • Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems.
  • Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning.
  • Provide in-depth experience in trouble-shooting IT systems.
  • Provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD 8570.01-M with a minimum certification of IAM Level I.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by completing all training requirements and fulfilling self-aid/buddy aid responsibilities, participating in emergency response tasks and serving on safety committees and teams.
  • Conform to the Amentum Quality Policy and carry out job activities in compliance with applicable Amentum Quality System documents and customer contracts.
  • Read, understand and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures and policies pertaining to his/her job.
