MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT As a Windows Server Engineer Senior, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful. Contribute to completion of major engineering programs and projects. Develop solutions to a variety of highly complex Windows/Linux engineering problems. Perform highly complex systems design, development, and integration from the start of a systems life cycle to the end. Oversee highly complex infrastructure including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools. Perform highly complex systems modeling, simulation, and analysis. Perform continual maintenance and provides highly complex solutions for security, backup, and redundancy problems. Prepare and maintain documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects. Maintain current knowledge of rapidly changing technology and work with management to evolve current processes. Perform additional duties as assigned. May coach and provide guidance to less experienced professionals. May serve as a team or task lead.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of related experience OR in lieu of Bachelor's, an additional four (4) years of related experience
  • Demonstrated Operations experience with Windows OS including administration, management, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience utilizing security tools (Qualys) to monitor and remediate vulnerabilities.
  • Experience with VMware virtual environment.
  • Experience with CLOUD platforms Azure and OCI.
  • Understanding of proactive monitoring concepts.
  • Experience with patching and maintaining server builds.
  • Ability to monitor and diagnose Windows server issues.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the following infrastructure principles: Scalability and Capacity planning Backup/Recovery
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware/software issues, restore the environment to an operational state with minimal downtime, perform root cause analysis and provide a forward leaning mitigation strategy
