The Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA) is undertaking two major technology modernization initiatives: the Data Center Modernization (DCM) Project and the Mac to Windows Transition Project. These projects establish the foundation for ODA's enterprise technology strategy by modernizing identity services, infrastructure, server environments, endpoint management, and workstation platforms. ODA requires an experienced Systems Administrator to augment internal staff and provide technical expertise throughout these initiatives while also assisting with operational support as needed. The objective is to provide senior-level systems administration services to support planning, implementation, testing, deployment, documentation, operational readiness, and ongoing operations for ODA's technology environment during the engagement. This role will support the Data Center Modernization and Mac to Windows Transition projects, administering Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Azure, DNS, DHCP, and related infrastructure. It will also support Microsoft Intune, Group Policy, endpoint management, Windows imaging, workstation deployment, and device lifecycle management. Responsibilities include assisting with server migrations, identity modernization, domain consolidation, and infrastructure modernization, as well as developing and maintaining technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge transfer materials. The role involves participating in testing, pilot deployments, production implementations, and troubleshooting, providing Tier III technical support, and assisting with day-to-day operational systems administration activities. Coordination with ODA staff, project managers, vendors, and stakeholders is expected, along with performing other related systems administration duties.
