About The Position

The Window/Glass Technician diagnoses and performs glass repairs on vehicles with efficiency, accuracy, and in accordance with dealership and manufacturer/factory standards. This role involves repairing and replacing auto glass components to maintain vehicle safety standards, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring customer vehicles are kept clean during the repair process. The technician will inspect damage, troubleshoot, and test vehicles to determine required or recommended repairs, and accurately diagnose malfunctions or damage to perform necessary repairs.

  • High school diploma or the equivalent and two-year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school.
  • Three years of verifiable auto glass replacement experience.
  • Luxury car experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately performs the necessary steps to repair and replace auto glass components to maintain vehicle safety standards
  • Provides excellent customer service
  • Ensures customer vehicles are kept clean during the repair process
  • Inspects damage, troubleshoots, and tests vehicle to determine required or recommended repairs
  • Accurately diagnose malfunctions or damage and perform the necessary repairs for them
  • Select appropriate tools, safety equipment, and parts according to job requirements
  • Install replacement glass in vehicles
  • Obtain windshields or windows for specific automobile makes and models from stock and examine them for defects prior to installation
  • Reinstall all vehicle parts that may have been removed prior to glass replacement or repair
  • Maintain a clean, efficient work area and assist in keeping the shop neat and organized
  • Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order in accordance with operating procedures
  • Safely and professionally operate a company fleet vehicle to and from customer locations throughout the workday
  • Fulfills all physical requirements of the job
  • Exhibits self-motivation with organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Able to work and collaborate effectively with a team of peers as well as leadership
  • Understand the terminology of the automobile business and keep abreast of technology changes
  • Follows all attendance and punctuality standards with adherence to timekeeping standards; Employees are required to record the beginning and ending times of any shift, break or departure from work for personal reasons
