Yazoo Mills is seeking a Winding Operator for a third shift position at its New Oxford facility.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of manufacturing experience

Responsibilities

• Operate spiral winder and cut-off saws and other miscellaneous equipment to fill customer orders
• Read and understand spec sheet and production orders to set-up machines correctly to produce a quality product
• Measure, caliper, and check the overall quality of the tolerances per spec sheet
• Understand all machine operations to cut the product to spec sheet/customer specifications
• Operate the machine effectively and efficiently to minimize waste
• Analyze packaging and make adjustments when needed
• Identify quality deficiencies and perform corrective action
• Communicate finished product on production order
• Comply with safety regulations/procedures and maintain clean and orderly work area
• Accept and receive supervision and assistance with regard to machine set-up and other essential tasks assigned
• Lift 50 lbs., bend, stoop and twist throughout the work day
• Thread winders to produce a quality core utilizing various layers of paper
• Perform Snake Lace technique continuously to secure tubes for transport
• Tie bundles, pack boxes, stand on end etc.
