About The Position

This position is responsible for operating a Winder machine according to job specifications, ensuring safety at all times. The role involves setting up the machine, handling materials, mixing epoxy, inspecting finished parts, and maintaining a clean work area. Additionally, the Winder I assists with material handling, training new operators, and documenting work performed. This is a Safety Sensitive position.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up Winder with proper program for part.
  • Threads fibers in head and mixes epoxy for tank as required.
  • Operates Winder according to job specifications.
  • Cleans machine at end of shift, cleans mandrels after use and cleans up around work area.
  • Unloads/loads parts from winder, places on rack, places rack in oven for curing.
  • Removes cured parts from Mandrel using puller and inspects parts for flaws.
  • Records time and work on Labor Ticket each day in the MRP system.
  • Communicates all production/winder related information to next shift Winder or shift Supervisor.
  • Perform all tasks as required of a Safety Sensitive position.
  • Assists with material handling between departments.
  • Assists in training of new operators.
  • Moves winding materials to and from storage to production area.
  • Document work performed and scrapped.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
  • Works to meet quotas.
