About The Position

In this intermediate- level position, you’ll use your skills and training to perform maintenance and/or installation work on assigned wind turbines under minimal supervision. You will be provided with defined schedules and procedures including safety protocol, verbal/ written instructions, but you may provide mentorship to entry-level technicians. During a typical day, you may be working 250+ feet above the ground, or working in small spaces to perform maintenance and repairs. You’ll be outside, and sometimes the weather isn’t great. You’ll be climbing, carrying tools and equipment, and moving parts to complete your work. Teamwork is a priority here, and our reputation for professionalism, safety and attention to detail are important to our customers. We also encourage recommendations to improve the safety and quality of our work.

Requirements

  • Basic Safety Training (BST) certification from the Global Wind Organization (GWO).
  • Basic Technical Training (BTT) certification from the Global Wind Organization (GWO).
  • Advanced Rescue Training (ART) certification from the Global Wind Organization (GWO).
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Hearing ability to use telephones, close range radios or related device.
  • Visual acuity including depth perception, field of vision and the ability to distinguish between colors.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl as needed, as well as hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to climb stairs & vertical ladders to heights of 60 to 100 meters and at times supervise work in confined space environments.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, carry items up to, but not more than 50 lbs. in weight.
  • Ability to observe training and obtain certification in required safety programs that include LOTO, Electrical Qualification, Fall Arrest & High Angle Rescue & Emergency Decent, and Confined Space.
  • Ability to successfully participate in all training courses, including controlled decent practical exercises.
  • The combined weight of prospective employee, required PPE and gear shall not exceed 300 lbs. Required PPE and gear may weigh up to 40 lbs.
