About The Position

This role is responsible for providing electrical and electronic maintenance and technical support. The technician will perform a wide range of duties including assembly, installation, inspection, maintenance, repair, modification, troubleshooting, and testing of various electrical and electronic systems and equipment. This includes motors, generators, motor control centers, switch gear, lighting circuits, A.C. and D.C. variable speed drives, solid-state boards, and electronic scales. The technician will utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to diagnose equipment issues and employ various test instruments and equipment such as voltmeters and ampere meters. Responsibilities also include performing operational tests, fabricating and installing parts, ensuring proper equipment operation after repairs, and maintaining accurate records. The role requires maintaining a clean and organized work area, adjusting and calibrating equipment, determining necessary parts and materials, and using the CMMS for planning and recording maintenance activities. The technician is expected to provide their own hand tools and perform other duties as assigned by their supervisor. Additionally, the role involves maintaining safe working conditions, conducting safety meetings and training, and adhering to Quality System Manual procedures.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in industrial electrical/electronic maintenance.
  • Formal training or practical experience in repair and maintenance of electronic devices.
  • Thorough knowledge of the electrical/electronic maintenance requirements and procedures for crushing, grinding, conveying, and related machinery.
  • Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions typically involved in the profession.
  • Thorough knowledge of personal computers and data entry as well as programmable logic controllers.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal form.
  • Ability to work effectively with supervisors and other personnel.
  • Ability to read, understand and use blueprints, wiring diagrams, sketches, schematics, manufacturer's instructions as well as comprehend verbal instructions.
  • Ability to access all areas of the plant and perform repairs and maintenance as required to ensure peak performance of the equipment.
  • Good command of both oral and written local language.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, inspect, maintain, repair, modify, troubleshoot, and test electrical and electronic systems and equipment.
  • Use programmable logic controller(s) to isolate faulty electrical/electronic equipment.
  • Use necessary test instruments, test equipment and tools such as voltmeters, ampere meters, and other electrical analyzing equipment.
  • Perform operational and functional tests to determine equipment or instrument malfunctions.
  • Fabricate reworks and install necessary parts and accessories.
  • Check work to ensure proper operation upon completion of equipment repair.
  • Inform plant operators or supervisor of work completion.
  • Prepare and maintain loss reports, charts and other paper work incidental to duties.
  • Keep work areas, measuring instruments, tools, electric cart and accessories in a safe, clean and orderly condition at all times.
  • Adjust and calibrate equipment, instruments and other devices to specifications.
  • Determine types of parts and materials required and obtain same from warehouse supply area.
  • Use CMMS to plan and record inspections, tests, calibrations, and repairs.
  • Furnish own hand tools typically required in the profession.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and practices within the department.
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings and employee training to achieve a zero (0) lost time injury record.
  • Perform work duties in accordance with Quality System Manual procedures.
