About The Position

As a Wind Tech Leader for White Mesa in Ozona, TX, you will direct all wind farm operations for maintenance and repair. You will focus on performance and profitability within the framework of the operating plan, including developing and executing strategy for improved maintenance, diagnostic, and operation to provide additional customer value and reduce cost of service. This role involves implementing safety policies, conducting field work in compliance with OSHA regulations, encouraging good employee safety practices, and driving an unparalleled employee safety culture. You will also participate in and lead Business Lean Six Sigma processes and projects, recruit, develop, retain, lead, and advance resources at sites, and drive professional standards and matrix development of the team. Additionally, you will be responsible for all phases of timely safety and environmental reporting, financial reporting, and turbine availability. You will work closely with internal NextEra users to develop and implement operation-focused feedback and solutions for planned and unplanned maintenance, improvement projects, development, and financial performance. The role also requires presenting a positive professional representation of NextEra Energy in the community and with the customer, and directing the performance of wind field operations within assigned contractual scope of responsibilities to external customers and/or stakeholders.

Requirements

  • High School Grad / GED
  • 5+ years in a technical field, OR completion of a technical certificate/degree program
  • Valid Driver’s License (NON CDL)
  • Ability to climb a wind turbine up to 300 feet
  • Post-Offer Functional Capacity Eval

  • Present a positive professional representation of NextEra Energy in the community and with the customer
  • Direct the performance of wind field operation within assigned contractual scope of responsibilities to external customers and/or stakeholders
  • Schedule all routine maintenance
  • Maintain parts inventory
  • Monitor equipment performance
  • Diagnose problems
  • Make recommendations to optimize efficiency
  • Assist in the selection and training of team members
  • Prepare and review administrative documentation relating to such things as time sheets and performance evaluations
  • Assist Site Manager in the preparation of reports regarding operations, maintenance, and budgeting
  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
