About The Position

The Engineering Finance Manager is a key part of the Wind Finance organization managing ~$300-$400M of engineering budget across all business lines in the Wind segment of GE Vernova. The candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the engineering budget (overseeing execution of engineering programs, approving purchase orders and payments, tracking spend performance) and assisting with the budget forecasting, pacing, and closing of the ledger. The candidate will also support the Product Management org. in building engineering cost estimates for new program investments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, engineering, or business management, from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in a finance role

  • Strong inter-personal skills and ability to work with/influence cross-functional and executive leadership teams
  • Prior experience in Financial Planning & Analysis preferred
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle, SAP) and digital applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for day-to-day management of programs including subledger reviews with program managers, approval of purchase orders and payment requests.
  • Directly support the Wind Capital Allocation Leader manage all business cycles including budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking across the organization.
  • Lead month-end/quarter-end closing activities and management reporting.
  • Track performance relative to budget and forecast, review actual results, and explain variances against budget and forecast.
  • Build detailed financial models that track and analyze cost drivers and headcount allocation across engineering programs.
  • Partner with Engineering Operations and Product Management to build standard assumptions for engineering investments across new programs.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, execute implementation, and drive continuous improvement across people, process, and systems.
