About The Position

Humane World for Animals is hiring two Wildlife Caregiver I employees for Black Beauty Ranch in Murchison, Texas. The role provides care to various domestic and exotic wildlife species. The position is full time and offers an hourly rate of $17–$21, plus a full benefits package. Salary offers are commensurate with experience, qualifications, skills, training, and education.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
One year of animal-care experience is a plus.
Must have or be able to obtain and maintain up-to-date rabies prophylaxis and titer and TB testing.
Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule.
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to excellence, demonstrated by delivering quality and timely outcomes.
Strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Prepare and administer animal feed and maintain prescribed diets; assist with ordering and maintaining food inventory.
Provide daily animal care and observation, including grooming and corralling according to seasonal needs; maintain records and databases covering care, feeding, husbandry, animal locations, and body conditions.
Clean and maintain enclosures, habitats, and office areas.
Maintain and repair enclosures, pastures, and habitats, including mowing, landscaping, and assisting with construction of new facilities.
Prepare and implement behavioral management and wellness programs.
Use positive reinforcement techniques to assist with animal care and medical treatment.
Dispense prescriptions as directed and assist with ordering animal-care supplies.
Provide basic first aid, therapeutic, and rehabilitative care; assist the Veterinary team with procedures, animal transport, and chemical capture as appropriate.
Help oversee interns and volunteers in the assigned department, including reporting, addressing concerns, and providing mentorship.
Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned.
