This position will serve as a Research Biologist responsible for coordinating, developing, and implementing research projects in Region III as a principal investigator. The individual will work closely with regional research and management staff to design and implement research projects to address information needs to manage wildlife and report results in formal publications (e.g., peer-reviewed journals). The position provides technical advice to wildlife managers in their areas of expertise (e.g., physiology, movement ecology, plant herbivore interactions, wildlife genetics). The Division of Wildlife Conservation's mission is to conserve and enhance Alaska’s wildlife and habitats and provide for a wide range of public uses and benefits. This position is defined by our core services that maintain and enhance opportunities to hunt, trap, and view wildlife because it helps to provide people an opportunity to gain knowledge and appreciation for Alaska’s wildlife, its management, and ways to interact with wildlife safely and ethically.
