About The Position

EMS Unlimited is seeking experienced Wildland Paramedic Firefighters (EMPF) aged 21 or older to join our roster for the 2026 Fire Season. We are a professional provider of emergency medical care, valuing teamwork, patient care, customer service, and professionalism. This role involves deploying on campaign wildfires for 14-21 day periods, providing compassionate medical care to line firefighters and support staff in extreme environments requiring hiking and camping. Team members may be assigned to Wildfire Ambulances, Wildfire Fireline Teams, or Wildfire Rapid Extraction Modules (REM).

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must have a current RT-130 and pack test for consideration.
  • Minimum of 1 year wildland experience.
  • Be a team player.
  • Must be in support of company values.
  • Be flexible.
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of applicable current standards of care, including equipment functions and uses.
  • Assure that all certifications, licenses and registrations are current, including Wildland and EMS.
  • The employee conducts themselves in a courteous, helpful, dignified and professional manner at all times.
  • Must have wildland experience 1-3 years minimum.
  • Must have a current pack test and RT-130.
  • Must possess a valid Drivers License.
  • Current National Registry Paramedic and state license in home state.
  • Current ALS.
  • Complete S-190, S-130, S-110, and L-180.
  • Complete ICS-100 and IS-700.
  • Complete RT-130 (If previously deployed).
  • Pass arduous pack test.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred 2 years experience in wildland.
  • 233 Fire Line Paramedic Course.
  • Low/High angle rope rescue (Required for REM Team).
  • ROHVA and four wheel drive experience (Required for REM team).
  • PHTL, ITLS, TCCC, Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician.
  • Prior wildland fire deployment experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy on campaign wildfires for up to 14-21 days.
  • Provide compassionate medical care to line firefighters and support staff.
  • Be assigned to Wildfire Ambulances, Wildfire Fireline Teams, and/or Wildfire Rapid Extraction Modules (REM).
  • Attend daily medical leader check-ins and task force debriefs.
  • Complete documentation and communication check-ins as required.
  • Assist task force teams with any technical rescues, extrications, and transports (for REM assignments).
  • Be available for any medical emergencies within the task force team.
  • Be staged with an ambulance for staging within the task force region (for Ambulance assignments).
  • Be available in case of emergency and a transport is needed from the region (for Ambulance assignments).
