The Oregon Department of Forestry’s Protection from Fire Program provides a complete and coordinated statewide forest fire protection system, ensuring that the benefits of the system exceed the cost. The Tillamook District Protection Unit oversees fire protection, detection, and suppression efforts across approximately 522,000 acres of private, BLM, state, and municipal lands, and maintains strong mutual-aid partnerships with local, county, and federal agencies. As the Fire Supervisor, you will play a key leadership role in supporting this mission. You will supervise and coordinate the unit’s field operations to accomplish fire prevention, pre‑suppression, and suppression objectives. In this role, you will lead staff engaged in daily field work, ensure readiness and maintenance of equipment and facilities, and foster effective cooperation with partner agencies. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact on Oregon’s fire protection efforts by guiding frontline staff, strengthening interagency relationships, and ensuring the district is prepared to respond effectively to wildfire events.
