Idaho Power is looking for a Wildfire Community and Customer Engagement Specialist to join their Customer Operations team. This position will lead the development, execution, and improvement of Idaho Power’s Wildfire Mitigation Plan (WMP) Community and Customer Engagement Strategy. The role involves identifying and engaging in year-round opportunities to connect the WMP efforts with the communities served, ensuring company preparedness plans reflect the needs of all customers, including Spanish-speaking customers, seniors, and customers with disabilities. This includes conducting public education campaigns, workshops, and training sessions on wildfire mitigation and Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) preparedness. The role also provides technical expertise and guidance to employees, customers, community organizations, and local public safety partners. Coordination with internal teams and external public safety partners is essential for collaborative engagement in emergency planning, mitigation processes, community resource center needs, and developing customer programs during PSPS or outage events. The position supports major events like PSPS and load shed, providing communications coordination, event-time support, and post-event reporting. During PSPS and load shed events, this role serves as a backup to the Event Manager, monitoring event management and communication activities. It also supports event preparedness and readiness through annual tabletop and functional exercises. Following events, the role assists in coordinating after-action reports for internal learning, process improvement, and external reporting, and may represent the company in discussions with executives and regulatory stakeholders.
