Alene Candles LLC is a private label, contract manufacturer that produces high-quality candles for some of the world’s most recognized retail, boutique, and cosmetic brands. We have been selected as a "Best Company to Work For" in 2020 and 2021 and 2023 Business of the Year for Manufacturing. The hours for this position are 1:15 PM - 11:15 PM, Monday - Thursday. During our busy season we anticipate there being some Overtime available. Busy season is happening now and we anticipate it running through October. The final two weeks of the year, we are shut down for the holidays and inventory. During this time we cannot guarantee full time hours for our employees. The Wicking Machine Technician position pays $24.00/hour. In addition, we are offering a $2,000 sign on bonus, split into two payments. The first payment of $1,000 will be included in your first paycheck, and the final $1,000 payment will be paid in your first check after completing 90 days of service. We are located at 51 Scarborough Lane, Milford, NH 03055. This position is onsite.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
12 months related experience and/or training
Equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate and percent.
Ability to read and use rulers.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Knowledge of all product types, how to identify differences in wick, and differences in sustainers.

Responsibilities

Follows and complies with all safety rules and regulations.
Maintains individual work area/equipment in a neat, orderly manner.
Detects and reports improper operations, faulty equipment/ tooling, defective materials and unusual conditions to material lead or supervisor.
Follow 5s guidelines
Evaluate each shop order including wick type, item number, wick length, correct sustainer, waxed or high melt, and number of wicks per container in accordance with ERP system.
Set up machine with wick, sustainer, adjusted length, acceptable crimp, and correct tooling/machine parts for different vessels.
Regularly perform preventative maintenance on wickers.
Develop and maintain TPM on all wick machines.
Responsible for daily updates and continuous track of individual and cumulative down time on wickers.
Required daily use of Microsoft office.
Maintain Alene standards of performance and comply with housekeeping, safety policies and procedures.
Evaluate and develop process improvement plans for down time caused by wickers and tabbing operations.
