FTE:1.0 _, Shift: Day_, Schedule: 7:30am-4:00pm_ Position Summary The WIC Operations Coordinator supports the day-to-day operations of the Mary Bridge WIC Nutrition Services office, call center, and participant scheduling operations. This role provides advanced operational, clinical, and programmatic support to ensure high-quality, compliant, and efficient WIC services.

Requirements

  • An associate’s degree in health education/promotion or a related field AND one (1) year of experience in community outreach, public health, or health equity OR Three (3) years of experience in healthcare, health education, public health, or community outreach, including experience with nutrition, physical activity, food justice, prevention programming, planning, evaluation, or related areas.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a WIC Certifier (Competent Professional Authority) in Washington State.
  • Experience working in a highly computerized environment.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all duties of a WIC Certifier II (Competent Professional Authority) while serving in a mentorship and program support capacity.
  • Applies advanced knowledge of WIC policies, assessment standards, and best practices to support staff development, operational effectiveness, and high-quality participant services.
  • Independently communicates with participants in a sensitive, respectful, and culturally responsive manner regarding lifestyle, medical history, nutrition practices, and income.
  • Models best practices for staff and provides support for complex or higher-need participant situations as appropriate.
  • Conducts health and nutrition assessments using Washington State WIC Assessment Questions, exercising professional judgment consistent with CPA authority.
  • Mentors and guides WIC Certifier I staff during their first year, providing coaching, support, and structured knowledge sharing to promote competency development and successful transition to independent practice.
  • Supports WIC leadership with staff training initiatives, including onboarding support, skill-building activities, and reinforcement of WIC program standards and expectations.
  • Works with families primarily through remote appointments and maintains flexibility across service delivery modalities while supporting clinic, call center, and program operational needs.
