We are a private, not-for-profit organization that coordinates public health grants for a 26-county region in central PA, seeks a Nutrition Aide to work in the WIC (Women, Infants and Children) Program in Lewistown. This is a full-time position. Requirements

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • One year of related experience
  • Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Local travel within Mifflin and Juniata Counties is required
  • Some early evening and Saturday hours
  • PA State Police Criminal Record Check (PATCH)
  • FBI Criminal Record Check, from fingerprinting
  • PA Child Abuse History Clearance (PACA)

Nice To Haves

  • A Nutrition and Dietetic Technician, Registered (NDTR) credential with an associate degree
  • An associate or bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics, public health, health education, or a related field
  • College-level coursework in nutrition, dietetics, public health, health education, or a related field from an accredited college or university
  • Previous WIC experience

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling appointments
  • Determining eligibility
  • Collecting data
  • Conducting nutrition interviews
  • Prescribing food benefits
  • Performing various duties to ensure the delivery of WIC benefits, nutrition education, and breastfeeding support.
