About The Position

The WIC Manager’s primary job function is to ensure effective day to day operations, provide supervision for assigned staff, and to ensure that the WIC program achieves their goals while maintaining the highest level of quality and compliance in accordance with State WIC guidelines and agency expectations. Uses a Continuous Quality Improvement Process to assess, plan, design, implement and evaluate care delivered to participants in these programs. Able to provide direct client services.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree required or 5+ years direct WIC Experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience required.
  • English and Spanish fluency required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors preferred.
  • Washington State Certifier Competency Training within 6 months of hire.
  • Knowledge of CQI processes is desirable, with a background in Maternal/Child Health and WIC program guidelines extremely helpful.
  • Experience working with Hispanic culture preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides day-to-day supervision & management of WIC in alignment with the mission, core values and strategic goals of the organization
  • Recruits, hires, and orients new program staff
  • Performs daily coaching and annual evaluations
  • Schedules employees to meet program/customer needs.
  • Conducts regular departmental meetings.
  • Aligns department with agency strategic goals.
  • Provides direct client care, in both individual and group settings.
  • Responsible for development, monitoring and reporting of departmental budget.
  • Develop new programs to meet strategic initiatives.
  • Ensures compliance with State and Federal WIC program guidelines.
  • Maintains authorized participating WIC caseload for agency.
  • Collaborates with other departments to coordinate overall care and maximize delivery of services for clients and CVCH patients.
  • Responsible for all programs and applicable grant reports.
  • Participates in CVCH’s CQI process and uses this process to: Assess, plan, design, implement and evaluate service delivery to clients.
  • Develop processes to assist department in achieving excellence in service delivery.
  • Represents agency at local, state and federal agencies, conferences and other meetings regarding matters of interest or effect on CVCH at the request of the COO.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned by supervisor
  • Start shift on time and meet attendance standards per the FTE assigned in HRIS system.
  • Follow safety policies and maintain a clean, safe work environment.

  • Comply with CVCH policies, Joint Commission standards, and HIPPA regulations.
  • Run ad hoc reports as requested.
