This role provides oversight, monitoring, and reporting on operational risks for Capital Markets and Commercial Banking. The analyst will develop and monitor the operational management framework, including governance framework and practices, to manage operational risks. They will provide policies, standards, methodologies, and controls to enhance transparency, accuracy, and consistency across groups. The position involves working with stakeholders to implement methodologies, metrics, and program standards for the assigned portfolio, ensuring compliance, effective monitoring, timely reporting, and identification of action plans. The analyst will act as a trusted advisor, guiding the identification and classification of issues, recommending action plans, and influencing to achieve business objectives. They will also research emerging requirements and best practices, assist in interpreting regulations, and help determine business priorities. The role includes conducting independent analysis, leading the development and maintenance of the governance system, and supporting strategic initiatives. Representation for model validation programs during audits and coordinating database management are also key aspects. Additionally, the analyst will build change management plans, lead communication strategies, and manage governance meetings. Specialized support for other regulatory requirements and input into operational programs are expected. The focus is primarily on business/group within BMO, with a potential for broader enterprise-wide focus. The role requires independent judgment to solve problems and handle non-routine situations.
