About The Position

The purpose of this machine operator is to utilize an oscillating spindle sander to sand out the shape of the guitar body. In this process, this team member is also removing scuffs, scratches and any excess glue that may still be present.

• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs frequently throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Learn and execute the Gibson standard operating procedures.
• Able to safely and efficiently operate an automatic oscillating spindle sander and a handheld pneumatic spindle sander.
• Achieve a 95% pass rate based on production requirements.
• Understand and meet quality standards and specifications.
• Maintain production flow at an appropriate rate.
• Adhere to the Gibson Cardinal Safety Rules as per the Gibson Playbook for Cardinal Safety Rules and General Safety Rules.
• Submit safety observations for identified hazards using the safety observation QR code.
• Support the comprehensive Safety Management System (SMS) to ensure a safe work environment, maintain compliance with regulations, and improvement of our safety processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
