The Whey Plant Production Manager is responsible for the operations of the whey facility.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 5 years of production management experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Must be legally authorized to work for a company in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Nice To Haves
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or a related field.
MES experience.
SAP experience.
Experience leading a large production team.
In depth understanding of production principles and general plant operations.
Ability to make sound, independent decisions based on functional expertise and experience.
Ability to administer a proactive management approach.
Ability to provide leadership, support, communication and direction to production supervisors, as well as line personnel.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve beyond routine issues.
Responsibilities
Organize, lead and supervise whey employees
Manage and coach supervisors to strengthen and enhance their management skills.
Administer an open door policy with employees to address issues, problems and concerns.
Challenge manufacturing systems for continuous improvement
Provide input and guidance on new equipment purchases.
Work closely with the quality control department, assisting with information gathering and follow up.
Coordinate with production schedules for daily scheduling changes and updates.
Process daily employee issues and complaints; listen well and provide tactful feedback.
Facilitate and assist with special projects, trials, customer requests, samples, etc.
Assist with selection, hiring, advancement, transfer, promotion and termination decisions for the department.
