About The Position

The Whey Operator is responsible for assisting the Whey Evaporator and Dryer Operator in the whey processing operation. This role involves operating and cleaning specific equipment, performing lab work, recognizing product deficiencies, and troubleshooting production issues. The operator must maintain accurate records and ensure equipment and plant conditions meet regulatory requirements. Adherence to safety policies, Good Manufacturing Practices, and the Safe Quality Food Program is expected. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the manager.

Requirements

Ability to adapt to change quickly.
Ability to understand the basic operation of evaporator and dryer and be capable of making process adjustments to them.
Basic computer skills required.

Nice To Haves

High School diploma or GED.
Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and related equipment.
Ability to make minor decisions based on standard practices.
Basic math skills to adjust process changes.
SAP experience.

Responsibilities

Operate and clean the AMVR Evaporator in automatic and manual modes.
Operate and clean the TFD and MSD spray dryers.
Perform lab work as required.
Recognize deficiencies in product.
Operate equipment in preparation for cream shipments.
Troubleshoot and solve any productions problem during operation.
Keep all records accurate and up to date.
Keep equipment and plant in condition that will meet all regulatory agency requirements.
Perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures.
Produce products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.
Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
