About The Position

The Group Leader is responsible for overseeing and directing the crew performing troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on plant equipment. This role supports the Maintenance Supervisor with the execution of the weekly plan.

Requirements

Demonstrated knowledge of previous leadership experience.
Welding skills including: arc, tig, mig, and oxy/ace.
Ability to weld blk, ss, alum, and Brazing.
Ability to design, layout and fabricate.
Ability to read blueprints and P&ID drawing.
Ability to work well with outside contractors.
Knowledge of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
Working knowledge of all dairy equipment.
Ability to operate a forklift.
Knowledge of proper safe use of hand tools.
Demonstrated leadership ability. Lead by Example.
Demonstrated strong commitment to safety. Knowledge of GMPs.
Must be able to fulfill physical functional requirements of position per ADA.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Computer literacy.
Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions.

Responsibilities

Providing direction to the crew and equipment in accordance with Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Ensuring weekly plan execution to facilitate minimum requirement of 80% planned work completion.
Performing daily pass downs with clarity and accuracy.
Ensuring all Red Tags, Hot Work permits, and documentations are filled in accordance with Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Performing daily area walk through of department to pre-plan work with production team.
Overseeing availability of maintenance support throughout the day for production department needs.
Assisting Maintenance Supervisor with managing the work backlog.
Attending production meetings and follow ups.
Tracking of repairable(s) and the disposition process.
Operating in a manner consistent with safe operating procedures at all times.
Fabrication or modification of equipment to Leprino specs and standards.
Installation of new or used equipment.
Repairs of building and all plant equipment.
Promptly responding to any equipment break downs or downtime when applicable.
Assisting in shift coverage when applicable.
Performing welding repairs to plant equipment.
Maintaining a safe work environment.
Fulfilling MEP requirements.
Performing any other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
Communicating major changes on issues and jobs.
