About The Position

The Whey Department Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the whey facility. The role includes monitoring plant operations, ensuring product meets company and customer specifications, overseeing sanitation and equipment maintenance, and managing plant employees. The supervisor also oversees the operation and maintenance of boilers and the water polisher, monitors supply inventory, contributes to project planning, works with regulatory and customer inspectors, promotes safety, and manages waste. The position develops and manages KPIs and budgets for the Whey Evaporator and performs the Whey Department Supervisor’s duties when necessary, such as during vacations or absences. Other duties may be assigned as required.

Requirements

• Five years of experience in a supervisory capacity is preferred.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

• A degree is preferred.
• Cheese or dairy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor ongoing plant operations and report to management.
• Ensure product conforms to company and customer specifications.
• Oversee plant sanitation.
• Staff, train, schedule, and evaluate plant employees.
• Ensure plant equipment is maintained as required.
• Maintain plant charts and production records.
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of boilers.
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of the water polisher.
• Monitor inventory levels of supplies.
• Participate in planning and coordinating plant projects.
• Work with regulatory and customer inspectors.
• Participate in and promote safety programs.
• Manage waste.
• Develop and manage KPIs and budgets for the Whey Evaporator.
• Perform the Whey Department Supervisor’s duties when necessary, including during vacations or absences.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
