About The Position

Dent Wizard is seeking a Wheel Remanufacturing Technician I to work on-site in their St. Louis, MO facility. This role is essential for automotive reconditioning services. The technician will be responsible for mounting and dismounting tires, balancing wheels, sandblasting, and washing wheels. The position involves approximately 80% inspection and disassembly/reassembly tasks, and 20% quality control and service excellence. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Entry level, minimum prior experience required
  • Must be proficient in mounting and dismounting wheels
  • Knowledge of wheel repair and restoration techniques
  • Great communication skills to interact with staff and/or customers
  • Manual dexterity for repetitive-motion tasks; proficiency with hand and power tools
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivation and the ability to work independently
  • Toughness and grit to work outside in all kinds of weather

Responsibilities

  • Mount and dismount tires.
  • Balance wheels.
  • Sandblast and wash wheels.
  • Thoroughly inspect wheels for damage, cracks, bends, or other issues.
  • Evaluate damage to tires, sensors, and valve stems and communicate evaluation.
  • Safely remove tires, valve stems, and other components from the wheels.
  • Take off and put on wheels on car to SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) and industry guidelines.
  • Clean and degrease the wheel surfaces to prepare them for repair.
  • Sand, grind, or use other methods to smooth out imperfections and remove rust or corrosion.
  • Balance wheels to ensure they rotate evenly and reduce vibrations when in use.
  • Reinstall tires, valve stems, and any other components that were removed during disassembly.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure that the wheels meet safety and appearance standards.
  • Make any necessary adjustments or repairs.
  • Other Duties as Assigned
