About The Position

The Operations Manager supports the Worldwide Field Support Program Management Office (PMO) and reports to the Deputy Program Manager for Operations and Logistics. This role coordinates daily PMO execution across operations, logistics, procurement, staffing, deployment, transition, quality, finance, and site leadership. The manager maintains an integrated view of commitments, risks, dependencies, and decisions to enable program leadership to act proactively before issues affect cost, schedule, compliance, or mission readiness. The position is hybrid and requires the ability to work onsite at Aberdeen Proving Ground and support geographically dispersed teams across time zones.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree and at least eight years of relevant operations, program management, logistics, or government contracting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • At least three years leading cross-functional teams or complex operational work.
  • Experience supporting a Department of Defense program, contract, or mission environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage concurrent priorities, dependencies, risks, and deadlines across multiple organizations.
  • Strong written communication, briefing, meeting facilitation, and executive reporting skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 collaboration tools and action or project tracking systems.
  • Ability to work onsite at Aberdeen Proving Ground and support geographically dispersed teams across time zones.
  • Ability to meet GDIT customer installation, travel, and security requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the integrated PMO operating rhythm including daily priorities, weekly reviews, action tracking, and executive status reporting.
  • Coordinate work across Program Operations, Logistics, Procurement, Finance, Recruiting, Human Resources, Contracts, Subcontracts, Security, Quality, and site leadership.
  • Maintain a consolidated view of program actions, owners, due dates, dependencies, decisions, and risks, and elevate issues requiring leadership intervention.
  • Support WFS Next transition planning and the phased stand-up of MCT, CRSP, SSA, FMS A, and other emerging mission requirements.
  • Monitor staffing, deployment, procurement, logistics, and site readiness activities across CONUS and OCONUS locations.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, templates, trackers, and management controls that improve consistency and audit readiness.
  • Prepare concise program updates, dashboards, read-aheads, and decision papers for the Program Manager and Deputy Program Managers.
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings, document decisions, and verify that assigned actions are completed.
  • Identify process bottlenecks, recurring failures, and workload imbalances and recommend corrective action.
  • Support surge operations and time-sensitive customer requirements outside normal business hours when required.
