About The Position

Kleinfelder's Environmental team is looking for a Wetland Scientist to work on field teams and lead natural resource surveys, technical writing, permitting and regulatory compliance activities for a variety of clients in the energy, transportation, and commercial markets. The work will involve primarily field work including wetland delineations, environmental inspections during construction, endangered species surveys, habitat assessments, permit preparation, report writing, and other studies. This position can be based in Dover or New Castle, Delaware.

Requirements

4-8 years of relevant experience in Delaware
Ability to work flexible work schedules and availability to meet priority deadlines
Ability to travel (mostly within Delaware but may include other areas of the MidAtlantic)
A valid driver’s license
BS in an Environmental, Biological or Ecological Science, or Environmental Policy

Nice To Haves

Masters in a relevant field of study
PWS Certification
Experience leading wetland delineations in accordance with USACE and state (DE) protocols, functional wetland assessments, mitigation, plant and wildlife identification, and soils identification
Experience using GIS
Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills
Excellent planning and organizational skills with strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills
