This role involves applying liquid coatings to various surfaces using spray painting equipment to achieve high-quality finishes that meet company standards and client specifications. Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a wet spray painter.
  • Strong knowledge of wet spray-painting techniques, materials and equipment.
  • Excellent color matching and blending skills.
  • Ability to operate and maintain spray painting equipment safely and effectively.
  • Must be able to demonstrate ability to follow directions, produce quality work, and maintain safe work environment.
  • Team player who can also perform without supervision.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and be clean shaven as needed to wear a respirator which involves successful completion of a medical evaluation/fit test.
  • Physical ability to frequently walk, stand for extended periods of time, balance, stoop, crouch, kneel, push, pull, twist, turn, and lift while performing functions of position.
  • Must be able to reach overhead and climb ladders as needed.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to wear a half-face (elastomeric) air purifying respirator with N95 filters or full-face respirator up to 8 - 10 hours a day.
  • May be required at times to be clean shaven to wear a respirator.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking and priming as necessary.
  • Operate and maintain wet spray-painting equipment, including spray guns, pumps and hoses.
  • Mix paints and other coatings to specified colors and viscosities.
  • Apply liquid coatings to a variety of materials, ensuring even coverage and a smooth, consistent finish.
  • Inspect finished products for defects such as runs, drips, and blemishes, and perform necessary touch ups.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
