About The Position

Miller Industries is seeking a Wet Spray Painter for their 2nd Shift at their location in Burton, Michigan. The hours are 5 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., Monday – Friday, with overtime as required for production on weekends. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying liquid coatings to various surfaces using spray painting equipment, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet our standards and client specifications.

Requirements

2+ years of experience as a wet spray painter.
Strong knowledge of wet spray-painting techniques, materials and equipment.
Excellent color matching and blending skills.
Ability to operate and maintain spray painting equipment safely and effectively.
Must be able to demonstrate ability to follow directions, produce quality work, and maintain safe work environment.
Team player who can also perform without supervision.
Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and be clean shaven as needed to wear a respirator which involves successful completion of a medical evaluation/fit test.

Responsibilities

Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking and priming as necessary.
Operate and maintain wet spray-painting equipment, including spray guns, pumps and hoses
Mix paints and other coatings to specified colors and viscosities.
Apply liquid coatings to a variety of materials, ensuring even coverage and a smooth, consistent finish.
Inspect finished products for defects such as runs, drips, and blemishes, and perform necessary touch ups.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
