About The Position

WD is seeking a motivated Process Engineer to join our wafer manufacturing team. This role is ideal for engineers passionate about semiconductor manufacturing and solving complex technical challenges. As a member of the Manufacturing Process Engineering team, you will work alongside experienced engineers, technicians, equipment specialists, and cross-functional partners to develop, optimize, and sustain advanced processes such as Wet Etch, Snow, Liftoff, and Electroplating in high-volume manufacturing.

Requirements

B.S. with 2 Years or M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, microfabrication, research laboratories, or other technology-focused environments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to interpret data and identify trends.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to work effectively both independently and in collaborative team environments.
Proficiency with data analysis tools such as JMP, Python, SQL, Minitab, SAS, or MATLAB.

Nice To Haves

Internship, co-op, or manufacturing experience in semiconductor processing or wafer fabrication.
Familiarity with cleanroom environments and wet chemical etch, photoresist strip, liftoff, and electroplating processes.
Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Advanced Process Control (APC).

Responsibilities

Perform failure analysis on defective wafers, disposition wafers on hold, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Drive achievement of yield, cost, and cycle time goals.
Evaluate and qualify new equipment, materials, and processes.
Implement and optimize APC, SPC, and process control schemes.
Document processes and provide training to the manufacturing team.
