About The Position

WD is seeking a motivated Process Engineer to join our wafer manufacturing team. This role is ideal for engineers passionate about semiconductor manufacturing and solving complex technical challenges. As a member of the Manufacturing Process Engineering team, you will work alongside experienced engineers, technicians, equipment specialists, and cross-functional partners to develop, optimize, and sustain advanced processes such as Wet Etch, Snow, Liftoff, and Electroplating in high-volume manufacturing.

Requirements

• B.S. with 2 Years or M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, microfabrication, research laboratories, or other technology-focused environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to interpret data and identify trends.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to work effectively both independently and in collaborative team environments.
• Proficiency with data analysis tools such as JMP, Python, SQL, Minitab, SAS, or MATLAB.

Nice To Haves

• Internship, co-op, or manufacturing experience in semiconductor processing or wafer fabrication.
• Familiarity with cleanroom environments and wet chemical etch, photoresist strip, liftoff, and electroplating processes.
• Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Advanced Process Control (APC).

Responsibilities

• Perform failure analysis on defective wafers, disposition wafers on hold, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Drive achievement of yield, cost, and cycle time goals.
• Evaluate and qualify new equipment, materials, and processes.
• Implement and optimize APC, SPC, and process control schemes.
• Document processes and provide training to the manufacturing team.
