About The Position

We are seeking a highly accomplished and strategic manager of our vertical wet coat paint line. The Wet Coat Paint Line Manager is responsible for leading and managing the daily operations of a multi-shift wet coat painting line. This individual will ensure that production goals are met with a strong focus on quality, on-time delivery, and process improvement. The role oversees a team of approximately 12–15 operators per shift, ensuring efficient workflow, adherence to quality standards, and continuous development of operational procedures. This position requires hands-on leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and a results-driven mindset.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a paint line environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of wet coat paint applications, curing processes, and quality standards
  • Familiarity with paint chemistry, viscosity, mixing ratios, and environmental compliance
  • Proficient in interpreting blueprints, specifications, and quality standards
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement tools
  • Proven ability to lead cross-shift teams, drive results, and foster a culture of accountability.
  • Experience with ERP and MES systems preferred; strong Excel/data analysis

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of the wet coat paint line across multiple shifts, including personnel, equipment, materials, and processes.
  • Ensure adherence to daily production schedules, quality standards, and customer delivery requirements.
  • Develop and implement systems to monitor and improve paint quality, first-pass yield, and defect reduction.
  • Supervise, train, coach, and evaluate the performance of shift leads and paint line operators.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, and Scheduling departments to ensure smooth operations and timely issue resolution.
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other structured methodologies.
  • Maintain compliance with safety regulations, environmental controls, and internal standard operating procedures.
  • Analyze production and quality data, develop action plans, and report performance metrics to senior leadership.
  • Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and ensure equipment is in optimal condition.
  • Support and promote a culture of accountability, high performance, and teamwork.
