The Division of Environmental Laboratory Sciences at the Wall Experiment Station (DELS/WES) is offering an internship to support its mission of protecting the health of the people, environment, and ecosystems of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. DELS/WES performs complex laboratory analyses on drinking water, watershed-surface waters, and other environmental samples for toxic organic and inorganic chemicals, including biological contaminants. The results inform public health protection actions and policies, including regulatory enforcement. This internship provides a growth-oriented opportunity for interns to develop analytical methods, gain real-world experience, and cultivate problem-solving skills by assisting DELS/WES chemists. Interns will also have opportunities to engage with scientists to investigate toxic chemicals and/or biological markers in the environment and their implications on population health, particularly in environmental justice communities.
