Under general supervision, the Wellness and Recovery Coach provide group and individual coaching services to individuals receiving behavioral health treatment. Using a strengths-based and person-centered approach, the Wellness Coach assists clients in developing practical life skills, improving emotional wellness, increasing independence, and achieving personal recovery goals. The Wellness Coach works collaboratively with clinical staff and community support to promote stability, engagement in treatment, and overall quality of life. Examples of groups and individual services offered that facilitate client’s decision making abilities in the areas of self-care, illness management, life work, and community participation include learning about alcohol and drugs, self-esteem, money management, health, current events, pre-vocational activities, diagnoses, medication and symptoms, anger management, phobias, stress, anxiety, relaxation, developing leisure, social skills, wellness, independent living, and coping skills.
