About The Position
This is a hybrid wellness coordinator and operations role supporting AWA's virtual adolescent program. The coordinator will keep the virtual program environment safe, structured, and therapeutically consistent by monitoring clients during group sessions, managing breakout rooms for de-escalation, and staying calm under pressure with genuine investment in the teens served. AWA is an adolescent mental health organization operating PHP and IOP programs in South Florida, serving teens and families at their most critical moments.
Requirements
- Experience working with adolescents in a clinical, educational, or community mental health setting
- Comfortable managing virtual group dynamics and de-escalating independently, without in-room support
- Tech-savvy, proficient with Zoom including breakout rooms (trainable if generally techy)
- Documentation and incident reporting skills
- Emotionally regulated, professional, and consistent under pressure
- Understands the limits of a non-clinical role - escalates appropriately, never makes independent clinical decisions

Responsibilities
- Monitor and redirect adolescent clients (ages 13–17) via chat during virtual group sessions, transitions, and unstructured time
- Manage breakout rooms independently for de-escalation when a secondary therapist isn't available
- Conduct Green Space assessments and follow up with parents every two weeks
- Process intakes, upload sign-in sheets, prepare welcome kits, and maintain census records
- Produce and distribute the weekly program newsletter
- Track attendance and coordinate psych/IEP scheduling for new admissions
- Provide real-time tech support to clients during sessions (Zoom, breakout rooms, chat)
- Communicate with parents by phone and email on progress and logistics
- Complete accurate, same-day documentation, including wellness check-ins and incident reports
- Escalate safety concerns, disclosures, and behavioral flags to the clinical team immediately
