About The Position
The YMCA of Broome County is seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join their wellness team as Wellness Instructors. This role is responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the wellness center, ensuring a safe environment for members, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate has a passion for fitness, excellent communication skills, and a friendly and welcoming demeanor. This position supports members at both the Binghamton and Johnson City locations.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills and ability to connect with our members
- Strong knowledge of fitness principles, techniques, and equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a wellness or fitness center preferred
Responsibilities
- Greet members upon arrival and provide a friendly and welcoming atmosphere
- Engage, motivate, and inspire members to achieve their fitness goals
- Provide guidance and support to members during workouts, ensuring proper form and technique
- Provide fitness equipment instruction to members
- Enforce wellness center policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment
- Opportunities for teaching group exercise classes on land or in the pool
