The Wellness Director is responsible for managing a motivated staff, ensuring effective employee relations, and maintaining clear communication regarding goals and direction. This role involves conducting performance reviews, ensuring quality and operational effectiveness in resident care, admissions, and compliance with State HFR standards. The position requires applying processes and procedures to maintain compliance, provide care, and create value for residents. Key duties include managing resident assessments, completing incident reports, providing direct care, contacting resident sponsors about changes in condition, and ensuring the daily routines of LPN Floor Supervisors, CMAs, and PCAs are implemented. The role also involves overseeing medication rooms, med carts, and personal care stations for cleanliness, orderliness, and adequate supplies, as well as managing medication stock in coordination with pharmacies and physicians. Proficiency in the internal system (Resident Manager) and communication log is essential for tracking incidents and resident/staff happenings. The Wellness Director will make recommendations for improvement and monitor employee use of systems. Additionally, this role assists in establishing and implementing brand/image guidelines to promote services and meet occupancy standards, oversees strategies for the admissions/sales process, and ensures time and quality standards for medication passes, resident care, and charting are met. The position requires the completion and regular updating of comprehensive resident care plans, involving staff from all shifts. Responsibilities extend to staff hiring, orientation, training, continuing education, and development, including supervision, coaching, goal achievement, scheduling, leave approval, performance reviews, counseling, and discipline. Ensuring adequate staff attendance for floor coverage within budget parameters and overseeing the on-call schedule for after-hours and holidays are also key functions. The Wellness Director must be willing to fill any hourly position as needed and maintain an understanding of the Department of Community Health’s Healthcare Facility Regulation Division’s Rules and Regulations for Assisted Living Communities, applying them effectively.
