About The Position

The Department of the Army – CID Wellness Program is establishing a program to identify and implement innovative solutions across USACID (United States Army Criminal Investigation Division) to improve careers, promote enduring health, and enhance well-being. The program also aims to enhance the resilience and well-being of family members through preventive behavioral health services. These services include individual and family counseling, skills building, behavioral health educational programs, and case management, integrating the wellness of personnel and their families.

Requirements

  • Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC) with a Master's degree from an accredited graduate program.
  • Valid unrestricted license from a State, the District of Columbia, a U.S. Commonwealth, or a U.S. Territory that grants authority to provide counseling services as an independent practitioner.
  • Ability to practice at the independent level without requiring state-mandated clinical supervision.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of professional standards and ethics regarding the delivery of social work services.
  • Experience in brief behavioral interventions, critical incident event management, public speaking, and case management.
  • Professional liability insurance of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence; $3,000,000 aggregate.
  • A minimum of six years of full-time professional experience post-licensure.
  • Understanding of law enforcement, as well as the military lifestyle and culture.
  • Effective communication with individuals and groups of diverse backgrounds, including enlisted personnel, officers, senior military and civilian leadership, spouses, and other family members.
  • Well-versed in crisis debriefing, individual and family counseling, case management, and training.
  • U.S. Citizen required.
  • Must pass an extensive background investigation.

  • Background working with or in the military and law enforcement is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct one (1) face-to-face session with assigned CID Agents per calendar year, which is not a command referral and does not become part of a formalized mental health record. These sessions are not for diagnosing or treating a psychiatric disorder.
  • Manage approximately 65-100 Agents/personnel, noting that not all shall require ongoing and/or consistent care.
  • Visit each designated location associated with their hub location for at least five days per quarter to provide face-to-face counseling services.
  • Potentially travel for critical incident events, requested training, or attendance at leadership conferences specified by USACID leadership.
  • Perform case management services for all DACID personnel referred for treatment outside of the Wellness Program, coordinating and monitoring progress and needs to ensure appropriate services are provided.
  • Provide case management for individuals following treatment in inpatient care, substance abuse programs, or any referrals to resources for long-term treatment, ensuring follow-up upon termination of treatment.
  • Track all cases through a specific tracker provided by the Government.
  • Develop, prepare, and present formal briefings and speeches to USACIDC leadership (at all echelons).
