Wellness Coach
About The Position
YMCA at Brentwood is hiring a part-time Wellness Coach to help members achieve their health and fitness goals. The role includes conducting fitness evaluations, creating personalized exercise programs, teaching members to use strength and cardio equipment safely, and building relationships that support members’ goals. The coach also maintains the Wellness Center and helps care for equipment, leads wellness education classes, and keeps certifications current. Days and hours vary by location. Pay starts at $14.00 per hour, with the possibility of higher pay depending on experience. After the first 90 days, the employee receives access to hundreds of free continuing education credits through ClubConnect.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification is required within 30 days; the employer pays for these certifications.
- Additional wellness certifications are required within 90 days.
Nice To Haves
- Exercise Science degree preferred.
- Background in fitness testing, exercise programming, or related college coursework preferred.
Responsibilities
- Guide members through fitness evaluations and design personalized exercise programs.
- Provide instruction on strength and cardio equipment so members can use it confidently and safely.
- Build relationships with members and help them set and achieve fitness goals.
- Maintain a clean and efficient Wellness Center and assist with equipment upkeep.
- Lead wellness education classes and stay current on certifications.
