About The Position

OPAL Fuels is seeking a Wellfield Technician to report to the Wellfield Supervisor and perform operation and maintenance of the gas collection and control system (GCCS). The GCCS includes interconnected extraction wells and piping, and must be operated properly to comply with state and federal environmental regulations. Most of the workday is spent in the field maintaining the system. The technician must be located within a one-hour drive of the assigned Wellfield location to support operational needs, emergency response, and field coordination.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to operate a pickup truck and ATV.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to work independently outdoors for approximately 90% of each workday.
Effective organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle objects weighing up to 50 pounds on occasion.
Ability to walk over steep and rough terrain daily.
Intermediate mechanical and computer skills.
Current, valid, unrestricted driver's license.
Must pass a background check and drug screen.
Ability to work Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with on-call, overtime, and weekend availability every other week.
Must live within a one-hour driving distance of the assigned Wellfield location.

Responsibilities

Conduct monthly wellfield monitoring.
Measure liquid levels in gas extraction wells.
Troubleshoot, clean, and maintain pneumatic pumps.
Conduct routine blower and flare operations.
Monitor perimeter probes.
Manage and interpret data from wellfield extraction locations.
Follow health and safety requirements and ensure on-site staff and subcontractors follow health and safety standards.
Be available for on-call response to GCCS-related malfunction events.
